Here are a few things happening in and around town — small opportunities to get involved, head out, or simply see something new.

Have your say in Eastbourne’s future
A new community-led initiative, We Are Eastbourne, has begun gathering ideas on how future investment could shape the town — from public spaces and transport to jobs, wellbeing and local opportunities.

An anonymous survey is now open to residents, offering a straightforward way to share thoughts and priorities. It’s an early invitation to contribute ideas while plans are still taking shape.

Eastbourne is set to receive significant long-term funding, potentially up to £20 million over the next decade, and this phase is focused on listening before decisions are made.

If you’ve ever wished you had a say in how things evolve locally, this is one of those rare moments where it’s genuinely invited.

No. 39 — The Sussex Art Shuttle
Looking for a different kind of day out? The No. 39 Sussex Art Shuttle is a weekend-friendly hop-on, hop-off bus linking art, countryside and villages in one easy route.

Running Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays, it connects Towner Eastbourne, Charleston (Firle), the Seven Sisters and Cuckmere Valley area, Alfriston, and Charleston in Lewes — making it possible to start at a gallery, stop for a walk on the Downs, and end the day in a village café without worrying about parking.

All-day tickets are around £5, with child concessions available, and Green Traveller discounts offered for entry into Charleston.

The current timetable runs until late March, making this a lovely last-chance excuse to explore the route before spring fully arrives.
